On the fourth day of the journey ships were sending messages to the Titanic about icebergs drifting their way. Captain Edward Smith ignored these messages because he thought that the Titanic was unsinkable. He also thought he could avoid the icebergs. When his crew members told the passengers that the ship was going to sink, no one believed them. No one thought the Titanic would ever sink.
