On March 31, 1909 a company named Harland and Wolff Shipyard started to build the Titanic. The ship had 50,000 horse power. When it was finally completed, it cost about $7,500,000. This ship was as tall as an eleven story building. It was also 900 feet long (as long as four city blocks), and it weighed 46,328 tons.
