Partner Page

And now, we give a special tribute to the many partners who support Mueller Elementary and our special programs!  We have worked hard to become a quality school and support has come from many people and partners.  Thank you to everyone who has chosen to be a part of our program!

The Smarter Kids’ Foundation has supplied funding for a computer projector in the technology lab.  This will display whatever is on a computer screen onto a wall or screen which can be viewed by the entire class.  It would also allow students and teachers to create technology projects, encourage community parents to get involved and learn how to use computer technology in the lab to help with special projects.

Mueller has also received a Smart Board from the Smarter Kid Foundation through the Project Get Smarter Grant.  The Smart Board allows students to visually see what is being taught along with actively interacting through touching and manipulating information on the whiteboard.  An interactive whiteboard combined with the computer projector and the computer itself allows teachers and students to write and erase notes, control computer applications and save information to the computer.traciprojector.jpg (44432 bytes)

Mueller has received a Southwestern Bell Telephone Grant for the 2000-2001 school year of $7000.  The grant will help fund using technology in the classroom and school by adding shareware, new computers, and software to create a Computer Lab for all students to use on a weekly basis.  Students will be working with a computer teacher and their classroom teachers to create Kid Pix projects, web pages, and Word documents.  They will learn to program Lego Robotics, develop interactive stories, and make slide shows from their original graphics and stories.  As students and teachers share their projects on our web site (check them out under our Kid's Stuff menu bar link), we can share what we are doing with other educators across the nation.

Mueller has been developing a partnership with the Wichita State University's (WSU) Professional Development School (PDS) program to further our ability to meet Mueller's student needs. WSU PDS students from John Marshall Middle School have the opportunity to be placed at Mueller for their elementary student teaching experiences necessary for state K-9 teaching certification. The PDS students are still under the supervision of Dr. Michael James and Kathy Harkness from Marshall Middle School but work directly under our classroom teachers for their teaching experiences.  PDS students are encouraged to get closely involved with a classroom teacher for the entire school year to better understand the beginning, middle, and ending of the school year process.  We are pleased to have hired several PDS students into our Mueller building!

Streaming Voices has generously agreed to produce streaming media for Mueller Elementary school so that we may share our Student TV News Broadcasts, music programs, and other multimedia files on our website. We are working on several projects with our students. Please check back frequently as our streaming media site grows.

Streaming Voices is a company specializing in producing streaming media to make web sites more effective and enjoyable. They accomplish this by transforming existing text web sites into an on-demand audio and visual experience.

Streaming media is a way to push large files to the viewer on demand which means you can begin to view them as they come to your computer instead of waiting for the entire file to download. Streaming media is more of a continuous connection. Much like TV or listening to the radio, you receive the images or audio just before you see or hear them. Streaming Voices is encoding our large media files to be viewed using RealPlayer. This is an additional program that works with your web browser that you can download for free.

RealPlayer needs to be downloaded in order to see and hear our multimedia files.  After you have downloaded RealPlayer check the Real.com Guide for other streaming media sites.

Check out our first Streaming Media links!

*You will need RealPlayer, a free download, to hear and view these files.
