Gifted Resource

Mueller's Gifted Resource Room helps gifted students needing
enrichment go beyond their instructional
skill groups and get additional academic support as directed
by their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
On a day-to-day basis, Mueller students receive most of
their academic instruction from their home room and
T.E.C.
STAR teachers along with other students grouped at similar
reading and instruction levels. Teachers are able to accelerate
these classroom students on a daily basis and move forward to
meet teaching objectives and standards at a faster pace and, consequently,
move ahead into new and more challenging material. The gifted
resource teacher then works with students in the resource room
on specific IEP objectives that are chosen with the student, parent,
and teacher during the IEP conference.
Mueller IEPs are wide and varied based on students' enrichment
needs. They can include the typical math, reading, and curriculum
acceleration areas but can also expand into internet research,
book studies, writing reports, software applications, exploring
middle school programs, computer applications, and other learning
extensions. In addition to the gifted resource teacher, Mueller
gifted students learn from ALL of our T.E.C. STAR teachers as
they move through their daily classroom experiences.
As a gifted resource site, Mueller is exploring different
options to help ALL students learn at their best levels where
ever they go during the day. Check out what our gifted students
can participate in under our School Programs
information page.
