Music Keyboard Lab

Music is an integral part of the Mueller program. Although the Music Keyboard Lab is just one part of our music program, it provides a unique, professional setting that deserves to be shared with others.

To complement students' understanding and appreciation of music, Mueller installed a Music Keyboard Lab complete with adult sized Clavinova keyboards. The Clavinova keyboards are full-sized, digitilized, keyboard systems complete with student/teacher headphones, soundboards, piano touch, and recording abilities. The music teacher's console is electronically connected to each student's keyboard and, using the master console, the teacher can listen and talk to individuals or the whole group at any time. The teacher's console is also programmed for the teacher to play keyboard music with the students, to play a background tape from the curriculum, or to record student/teacher work.

Mueller's music teachers share students in their fifty minute teaching blocks for a variety of music lessons. Students can now rotate between vocal/choral music preparation and the Music Keyboard Lab where a highly qualified music teacher instructs students on reading music, listening to pitches, and writing and playing music on the keyboard. Students benefit from the additional hands-on instruction tied in with their listening to music at the same time.
