Pre-kindergarten

Mueller offers a half-day neighborhood pre-kindergarten program for four year old students with a full time teacher and para.

Mueller's pre-kindergarten helps students develop social skills, reading readiness, developmental milestones, and an understanding of learning to be successful in their K-12 educational years. Parents or caregivers drop children off Monday through Friday from 8:40-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-3:50 p.m.

Pre-kindergarten typically starts off the day with a nutritious breakfast or snack followed by large group instruction time on the carpet. Group time includes the weather and math calendar, story time, singing learning songs, show and tell, and learning what they are doing for the day. Play and work time can consist of activity centers, working at tables (writing names, etc.), or teacher activities.

As part of a federally funded grant, Mueller's neighborhood pre-kindergarten program focuses on helping students get a jump start on their educational experiences. Call Mueller at 973-8300 in March or April to find out the dates for testing. Students are pre-tested on the Dial-3 to determine need and placements are determined by June for the following year.
