Mueller has a full time science teacher dedicated to helping students learn more about the world around
them. She accomplishes this through hands-on experiments and scientific inquiry.
The hands-on activities help meet Kansas State learning objectives and district
standards.
In science, students look forward to learning more about systems and interactions, energy and matter,
patterns of change, and making and using models in a lab setting. The
science teacher carefully prepares hands-on science lessons based on each grade
level's objectives standards, and needs. Lessons frequently include
Activities Integrating Math and Science (AIMS) lessons, FOSS, and other hands-on
activities. Monthly activities are highlighted in our monthly
Mueller Messenger newsletter.
On a weekly basis, the science teacher uses student volunteers to help take care of the science classroom animals,
work with parent volunteers on the outside flower beds (also a science/school
project installed with volunteers!), and to take care of the school's plants.
