Mueller students are encouraged to show their best
academic work and behavior at all times. To help promote this, we have developed a 'Star
of the Week' Award that students can earn all year long.
Classroom teachers who notice a student doing something special (like
extra effort on a homework paper, improved behavior, doing something nice for
someone else) can select that student to receive a "Star of the Week" Award.
Each Friday, the principal reads the name of the student chosen
to be the 'Star of the Week'. During the Friday morning Student TV broadcasting announcements (done by our students),
the principal reads the names of all students chosen for that week to be the
'Stars'. Students who are chosen go to the office to be positively recognized
with a 'Star of the Week' Award certificate and a 'Good Work' pencil. Students
enjoy being picked for this special award and teachers like being able to
recognize good behavior and hard work!
