 We are pleased to share our Mueller
program with you! The
Mueller teachers, staff, and parents are excited about our progress
in meeting every student's learning and academic needs. Hopefully,
this letter will explain more about who we are and why we're here.
Since 1952, Mueller has had a strong emphasis on academics. Although most students have their first
experience of Mueller through the birthday lottery in the Wichita
desegregation plan, many choose to continue at Mueller due to
this strong emphasis on high expectations and meeting individual
student needs. Our teaching "teams" work closely with
each other to share teaching ideas, make recommendations, communicate
with parents, and discuss how to best meet each child's academic
progress. Through the years, we have been pleased to have the
strong support of the Wichita Board of Education as we have worked
to achieve our goals.
To meet our students' needs, we have developed our T.E.C.
STAR program. T.E.C. STAR stands for
Teaching
Every
Child
Science,
Technology,
Arts/Academics, and
Reading/Writing/Arithmetic.
Each of these support teachers works closely with our students
on a regular basis to provide a concentrated learning time when
students are in their classrooms. Students have the advantage
of working with teachers who can devote their full attention and
planning time to just these areas to make sure students are learning
what they need to be successful. Our support teachers are dedicated,
friendly, and enjoy working with students!
Mueller has taken some big steps in putting our
T.E.C.
STAR program together. We are continuing to learn how to implement
best teaching practices, technology,
and how to meet each student's needs into our daily program. This
is an ongoing process that includes communicating with our parents
and community, exploring new ways to teach and learn, and being
willing to take on more challenges. You can read about some of

Programs. We're getting ready for learning in the 21st Century!
Mueller offers your child a wide variety of learning experiences through many different strategies including
school wide projects and grade level field trips. We understand
that each student learns differently. As such, we offer a variety
of school programs to help meet the needs of Mueller students
pre-kindergartenthrough fifth grade. Please check out our
