Meet the Library Staff

Naomi Sevart, Librarian

Welcome to Mueller Aerospace and Engineering Discovery Magnet’s library! I am delighted to serve our students, staff, and families as Mueller’s Library Media Specialist. I have been teaching for Wichita Public Schools since 2010. I was a classroom teacher for several years as well as a reading interventionist before transitioning to my role in the library. Reading was one of my favorite subjects as a student and as a teacher, it is my passion to help students discover their own love for reading. Mueller’s library has a wonderful book collection and I love helping students find books that are just right for them.

“Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or duty it should be offered as a precious gift.” Kate DiCamillo

Library Mission: The school library will be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all students to learn and grow while fostering a life-long love for learning and reading.

Library Vision: The library will be an inclusive, inviting, and engaging learning environment for all students, students’ families, staff, and school community members. Library patrons will be valued and treated as an important part of the school library community. Instruction will be appropriate and purposeful to meet the needs of all learners to prepare them for the future.

Guide to Book Care

  • Keep your books in a safe place.
  • Return your books on time.
  • Do not eat or drink while reading library books.
  • Wash and dry your hands before reading library books.
  • Keep books away from pets and little ones. They do not know how to take care of books!
  • Never draw or write in a library book!
  • Always use a bookmark!
  • If the library book has been damaged, bring it to your librarian. They will repair it if they can. DO NOT REPAIR THE BOOK YOURSELF! Your librarian has the right tools and training to fix books.
  • If you lose your book or it is damaged while in your care, you will need to pay to replace it. Talk to your librarian.
